MEMPHIS, TN., - More and more real estate sales involve buyers and sellers dealing with properties heading for foreclosure or already foreclosed on by the bank. In response, licensed Realtors like Crye-Leike Broker Fosta Brown feel more compelled than ever to ?change their approach' to real estate to meet the demands of the current new ?traditional' real estate market.

 

"I have practiced real estate for nearly 27 years and during that time I've seen a lot of changes both positive and negative," said Brown. "The most negative change has been the recent wave of foreclosures and loss of equity in quite a few markets. Even though rates remain low there's still the problem of adjustable rates coupled with high unemployment causing a record number of foreclosures."

Little Rock - The number of Americans preparing to buy a home rose in December.

 

The National Association of Realtors' new seasonally adjusted indes of sales agreements rose to 96.6% from November 2009 to December 2009.  The index has risen for nine of the past 10 months as buyers take advantage of an $8,000 first-time home buyer tax credit.  The credit was originally set to expire in November before Congress extended it to April 30, and added a $6,500 credit for current home owners.

 

Locally, realtors say the Central Arkansas market is strong, largely because of relatively strong employment compared to other capital cities. Say It On 7:
