Little Rock, Ark. - Crye-Leike, the nation's 13th largest real estate company, has acquired Prudential Lakefront Real Estate in Hot Springs, Ark., a strategic move that company officials claim to be the first of many planned for Central Arkansas.
Crye-Leike recently expanded its regional operations into Little Rock, Ark. in June 2002, making it Crye-Leike's fifth regional office, joining Memphis, Nashville, Chattanooga and Johnson City in Tennessee. Chief executive officer Harold E. Crye plans to establish six to seven branch offices surrounding the metro area of Little Rock over the next three years.
Crye purchased the real estate firm from Jack and Nedra Plumlee who will remain active with Crye-Leike, along with Lakefront Real Estate's current sales force. The Plumlee's opened Lakefront Real Estate as an independent real estate firm in 1994, and became affiliated with the Prudential franchise system in 1996.
